Broken Arrow Soccer Club Recreational Coaches’ Code of Conduct
I hereby pledge to live up to my membership in the Broken Arrow Soccer Club
by following the BASC Coaches’ Code of Conduct.
⚽️ I will place the safety, emotional and physical well‐being of my players ahead of a personal desire to win.
⚽️ I will treat each player as an individual remembering the large range of emotional and physical development for the same age group.
⚽️ I will promise to review and practice the basic first aid principles needed to treat injuries of my players.
⚽️ I will do my best to participate in coaching clinics to advance my coaching skills.
⚽️ I will do my best to organize practices that are fun and challenging for my players.
⚽️ I will ensure that my players’ soccer experience is one of fun and enjoyment (winning is only part of it). I will be generous with my praise when it is needed. I will never yell at or ridicule my players for making mistakes or losing a game.
⚽️ I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all players, officials and spectators. I will keep winning and losing in proper prospective.
⚽️ I will try to respect the referee’s decisions at all times.
⚽️ I will provide a sports environment for my team that is free of illegal drugs, tobacco, alcohol, profanity, abusive language and conduct which could be deemed offensive, and I will refrain from their use at all practices and games.
⚽️ I know we do not have a paid facilities staff. I will encourage everyone to use these facilities properly and to keep fields clean and free from litter.
⚽️ I will be knowledgeable in the laws of soccer and will teach these laws to my players.
⚽️ I will remember that I am a youth sports coach, and that the game is for the players and not adults.
⚽️ I will abide by the decisions of the BASC Disciplinary Committee.
